Vice-President and Co-Founder
In 2002, Renzo Peña co-founded DB Peru, which represents 2 organizations with the same mission in the USA and in Peru. Since that time, he has made more than 100 trips to the remote jungle areas of the Peruvian Amazon to bring education and healthcare. Renzo was born and raised in Lima, he and his wife and 3 children live in the city.
Renzo studied as an Engineer in electronics at the university USMP, and has been the project manager for completion of the Santa Maria School in Pachacamac, and the installation of the automotive mechanic school at Cuidad de los Ninos in San Juan de Miraflores. He responded with more than 20 trips to the earthquake-devasted area of Ica and Chincha in 2007 with humanitarian aid.
Renzo Peña was the owner and General Manager of Peru Well Traveled Tour Company, and is past co-owner of a transport company.
Advisor for Native Affairs
Circo has been our boat driver and guide since 2006. He is also the watchman of our lodge, El Albergue DB Peru, and of our boat, the Lady Di. He is from the village of San Pedro on the lower Napo River, where he lives with his wife and children.
Because Circo has never missed a trip in all the years, every past volunteer will remember Circo. He is our logistics man, who oversees all of our equipment and supplies, making arrangements for their transport, and delivers our notices and supplies when we are not on the river.
He also attends every activity as a guide for volunteers, and is our best resource for knowledge about life in the jungle.
